This Cookie Policy explains which cookies and similar technologies (localStorage, scripts) we use on unicore.ro, for what purpose, for how long, and how you can control your choices. It complements the Privacy Policy and complies with the GDPR, the ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC, as amended), and Romanian Law no. 506/2004 on processing of personal data in the electronic communications sector.
1. What are cookies and similar technologies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. They may be “session” cookies (deleted when you close the browser) or “persistent” (remain until expiry or deletion).
Similar technologies include localStorage / sessionStorage (browser storage), pixel tags, and third-party scripts. In this policy, “cookies” also covers these technologies where relevant.
2. Who sets the cookies?
- First-party cookies: set by unicore.ro — needed for operation, preferences, and consent.
- Third-party cookies: set by partner domains (e.g. Google, Meta), only if you accepted the Analytics or Marketing category.
3. Categories used on unicore.ro
The consent banner lets you accept all, reject optional ones, or customize by category. The categories are:
- Essential (always on) — ensure site operation, basic security, and storage of your consent choice. Do not require prior consent (Art. 4 of Law 506/2004 / “strictly necessary” exception).
- Functional — remember preferences that improve site experience. Enabled only with your consent from the banner.
- Analytics — help us understand how the site is used (popular pages, errors, performance). Consent only. Without agreement, we do not load scripts such as Google Analytics.
- Marketing — used for campaign measurement and relevant advertising. Consent only. Without agreement, we do not load Meta Pixel or similar tools.
4. How we obtain and manage consent
On the first visit (or after consent expires / is invalidated), we show a banner offering: Accept all · Reject optional · Customize. Your choice is stored locally (key unicore_cookie_consent) with version, date, and category preferences.
You can change options anytime via the “Cookie settings” link in the site footer. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of prior processing. Third-party cookies already placed can also be deleted in browser settings.
5. What we currently use
In the current site configuration, we store consent preference locally; language is mainly determined from the URL path (/ro, /en, /fr). The site uses dark mode only. Analytics and marketing scripts are prepared to load only after category consent. The table below details the relevant technologies.
6. Browser controls
You can block, delete, or restrict cookies in browser settings (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari, Opera). Typical path: Settings → Privacy / Cookies → Clear data or block third parties. Restricting essential cookies may affect site operation (e.g. the banner reappearing).
For interest-based advertising in the EU/EEA you may also use industry opt-outs (e.g. Your Online Choices — www.youronlinechoices.com), in addition to our settings.
7. Consent duration and renewal
Consent preferences are normally kept for 12 months. After expiry or when the consent policy version changes, we will ask for your choice again. You may clear localStorage / cookies for the unicore.ro domain at any time.
8. Personal data and cookies
Some cookies may constitute or enable processing of personal data (e.g. online identifiers, IP). In those cases the Privacy Policy applies (GDPR rights, legal bases, recipients). Analytics/marketing cookies may involve transfers outside the EEA — only with consent and adequate safeguards.
9. Updates
We may update this policy when we change the technologies we use or legal requirements. The “Last updated” date on the page reflects the version in force. We encourage you to review it periodically.
10. Contact and rights
